HANZA has been present in China since February 2013, all the time operating from the same building. As previously announced, we decided to expand our offering by including electronics manufacturing and have invested in a brand-new SMT line. In connection with this, we also made the strategic decision to move into new premises of 3,800 sqm. During spring we have been renovating, and we are happy to inform that we have now completed the move.
In the past, our main production in China has been compasses, cables and box build. Now we can also offer PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) manufacturing, which creates more value for our customers. A key to the success of this is the material sourcing, which is why we have enlisted the help of the company Esic, who initially will be responsible for Sourcing & Purchasing as well as gradually training our staff. In addition to being part of our Suzhou organization, Esic will also join our strategic global sourcing organization. The cooperation will start in October.
